In the Mario games, some of the bosses are destroyed (especially one-time antagonists), although those affiliated with the Koopa Troop (including Bowser himself) can always be counted on to be resurrected one way or another

Please note that some enemies will be labeled as dead because they fell off the screen, a typical death scene in sidescrollers. Unless otherwise specified, we'll say that they were destroyed.

Some of these (ie: Koopa Bros., Kammy Koopa) are debatable, and therefore will be listed as such.

Also, with some games, regardless of release date, it is unclear what order they take place in. The chronological order is not necessarily the same as the release order; Super Mario World was released after Super Mario Land and before Super Mario Land 2, yet Super Mario Land 2 takes place IMMEDIATELY after Super Mario Land. They will be listed and grouped together according to game system. As such, Petey Piranha has some ambiguity as to what order each of his battles occurred in, though Super Mario Sunshine is easily the first, and there is also Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Super Princess Peach, and New Super Mario Bros. Therefore, it is unclear which game the final death of characters like Petey Piranha or Bowser are in.

This list may be added to or retconned (for instance, Fawful seems to die in Superstar Saga, and even seems to appear as a ghost after, but he returns in the next two games) if more Mario games are to come out.

Super Mario Bros.Edit

  1. Fake Bower (Goomba) - Bridge cut by Mario and Luigi with an axe, sending him falling into the lava.
  2. Fake Bowser (Koopa) - Bridge cut by Mario and Luigi with an axe, sending him falling into the lava.
  3. Fake Bowser (Buzzy Beetle) - Bridge cut by Mario and Luigi with an axe, sending him falling into the lava.
  4. Fake Bowser (Spiny) - Bridge cut by Mario and Luigi with an axe, sending him falling into the lava.
  5. Fake Bowser (Lakitu) - Bridge cut by Mario and Luigi with an axe, sending him falling into the lava.
  6. Fake Bowser (Blooper) - Bridge cut by Mario and Luigi with an axe, sending him falling into the lava.
  7. Fake Bowser (Hammerbro) - Bridge cut by Mario and Luigi with an axe, sending him falling into the lava.
  8. Bowser - Bridge cut by Mario and Luigi with an axe, sending him falling into the lava. If he did not survive, then he was revived later on, possibly by the Koopalings.

Super Mario Bros. 2Edit

  1. Mouser - Blown up by Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad with bombs.
  2. Tryclyde - Blocks thrown at him by Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad.
  3. Mouser (2) - Blown up by Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad with bombs.
  4. Fryguy - Blocks thrown at him by Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad. Split into four upon death, but they were destroyed the same way.
  5. Clawgrip - Rocks thrown at him by Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad.
  6. Tryclyde (2) - Blocks thrown at him by Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad.
  7. Wart - Vegetables thrown in his mouth by Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad.

Super Mario LandEdit

  1. King Totomesu - Destroyed when Mario hit a switch, destroying all enemies close enough to it.
  2. Dragonzamasu - Destroyed when Mario hit a switch, destroying all enemies close enough to it. (Alternately, he may have been shot down with torpedoes)
  3. Tamao - Destroyed when his master, Dragonzamasu, was destroyed.
  4. Hiyoihoi - Destroyed when Mario hit a switch, destroying all enemies close enough to it.
  5. Bikinton - Shot by Mario with torpedoes.

Tatanga appears to be destroyed when his ship explodes, as he is not seen leaving it, but presumably he warped off, as he appears in the sequel...

Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden CoinsEdit

  1. Radonkel - Head jumped on three times by Mario.
  2. Ricky - Jumped on three times by Mario.
  3. Sabasa - Head jumped on three time by Mario.
  4. The Three Little Pigheads - Each jumped on three times by Mario.
  5. Octopus - Head jumped on three times by Mario.
  6. Tatanga - Jumped on three times by Mario inside his weaker spaceship.

Super Mario WorldEdit

  1. Iggy Koopa - Knocked into the lava by Mario and Luigi. Was revived by Bowser sometime before Superstar Saga.
  2. Morton Koopa Jr. - Head jumped on three times by Mario and Luigi. Was revived by Bowser sometime before Superstar Saga.
  3. Lemmy Koopa - Knocked through a pipe into the lava by Mario and Luigi. Was revived by Bowser sometime before Superstar Saga.
  4. Ludwig von Koopa - Head jumped on three times by Mario and Luigi. Was revived by Bowser sometime before Superstar Saga.
  5. Roy Koopa - Head jumped on three times by Mario and Luigi. Was revived by Bowser sometime before Superstar Saga.
  6. Wendy O. Koopa - Knocked through a pipe into the lava by Mario and Luigi. Was revived by Bowser sometime before Superstar Saga.
  7. Larry Koopa - Knocked into the lava by Mario and Luigi. Was revived by Bowser sometime before Superstar Saga.

The "End of Chapter" text talks as if the Koopalings were destroyed, but they do return in a sequel. Besides, in New Super Mario Bros., it is shown that Bowser Jr. knows a formula of resurrecting members of the Koopa Troop.

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven StarsEdit

Though many enemies seem to disappear in battle, they are only actually destroyed if they have completely vanished AFTER the battle scene ends. Also, there are a variety of attacks that could be used during battle (as it is an RPG), and bosses have a lot of HP. Also of note, only three can battle at a time (one of which must always be Mario).

  1. Mack - Defeated in battle by Mario and Mallow.
  2. Bowyer - Defeated in battle by Mario, Mallow, and Geno.
  3. Punchinello - Crushed to death by the King Bomb as it fell, while he was trying to summon it to destroy Mario.
  4. Bundt - Eaten by Booster.
  5. King Calamari - Defeated in battle by Mario, Mallow, Geno, Bowser, and Peach.
  6. Yaridovich - Defeated in battle by Mario, Mallow, Geno, Bowser, and Peach.
  7. Megasmilax - Defeated in battle by Mario, Mallow, Geno, Bowser, and Peach.
  8. Czar Dragon - Knocked into the lava by Mario, Mallow, Geno, Bowser, and Peach. Returned as the skeleton, Zombone.
  9. Zombone - Knocked into the lava again by Mario, Mallow, Geno, Bowser, and Peach.
  10. Axem Rangers - Once defeated by Mario and the gang, their ship, Blade, crashed over the side of Barrel Volcano, killing all five of them (Axem Red, Axem Black, Axem Yellow, Axem Green, and Axem Pink).
  11. Boomer - Once defeated by Mario, cut the Chandeli-ho and fell to his death, in shame of his defeat.
  12. Count Down - Defeated in battle by Mario, Mallow, Geno, Bowser, and Peach.
  13. Cloaker - Defeated in battle by Mario, Mallow, Geno, Bowser, and Peach.
  14. Domino - Defeated in battle by Mario, Mallow, Geno, Bowser, and Peach.
  15. Clerk - Defeated in battle by Mario, Mallow, Geno, Bowser, and Peach.
  16. Manager - Defeated in battle by Mario, Mallow, Geno, Bowser, and Peach.
  17. Director - Defeated in battle by Mario, Mallow, Geno, Bowser, and Peach.
  18. Factory Chief - Defeated in battle by Mario, Mallow, Geno, Bowser, and Peach.
  19. Gunyolk - Defeated in battle by Mario, Mallow, Geno, Bowser, and Peach.
  20. Smithy - Defeated in battle by Mario, Mallow, Geno, Bowser, and Peach, overloading his body with heat and causing him to explode.

Smithy and some of his henchmen appear in the parade, but RPG parades are out of continuity, and merely a way of showing most of the characters who appeared, and therefore not an indicator of characters' survival.

Super Mario 64Edit

  1. Big Boo - Defeated by Mario, punching him whenever visible. (note: There are three Big Boos, all defeated the same way)
  2. Big Mr I - Was destroyed when Mario ran around him in circles.
  3. Big Bully - Knocked into the lava by Mario.
  4. Bullies - All three knocked into lava by Mario.
  5. Big Bully (2) - Knocked into the lava by Mario.
  6. Chill Bully - Knocked into ice water by Mario.
  7. Wiggler - After giving Mario a star, shrank to a small size, and fell through the grate and into the chasm below.

Paper MarioEdit

  1. Goomba King - When Mario hit a switch to turn the tower of Goomba King's fortress, which he was standing on, back into a bridge, the bridge jumped up and sent the Goomba King flying into the distance. He was never seen again for the rest of the game (except the parade, which is non-canon), but debatable nonetheless.
  2. Buzzar - Jumped over the side of the cliff once defeated by Mario.
  3. Lava Piranha - Defeated in battle by Mario and his partners (presumably Sushie, as her attacks are super effective against him). Was last seen sinking into the lava with his Lava Buds. The fact that he did not return, when lava heals him, implies that he is dead.
  4. Huff N. Puff - Defeated in battle by Mario and his partners (except Kooper, who can only hit ground bound enemies, but Goombario, Bombette (if she uses Mega Bomb), Parakarry, Bow, Watt, Sushie, and Lakilester could be used against him), and exploded, scattering several Tuff Puffs that were part of him.
  5. Crystal King - Defeated in battle by Mario and his partners (Goombario, Kooper, Bombette, Parakarry, Watt, Sushie, and Lakilester (none of Bow's attacks could damage him due to his defense)), and dissolved into snow.
  6. Koopa Bros. - Defeated by Jr. Troopa, sending them flying upward. They seem to disappear, because there is a low roof in the room, and are not seen for the rest of the game (except in the parade, once again non-canon). Debatable, however.
  7. Bowser - After being defeated by Mario, the intensity of the battle caused his castle and machine to explode, sending him flying into the distance. Though Klevar talks as though he survived ("I hope he behaves himself from now on..."), in Luigi's Mansion, Madame Clairvoya says "I thought Mario soundly defeated Bowser. Has King Boo somehow revived him?"), indicating that he is dead... until Bowser Jr. revives him for Super Mario Sunshine. It is possible, however, that the event she refers to is one that takes place between the two games.
  8. Kammy Koopa - If Bowser was indeed killed by the explosion, it is unlikely she could survive something he didn't; if she was killed along with him, he obviously revived her later on, as she appears in a later game. Like Bowser, debatable.
  9. Spiky Tom - Was either killed in battle by Mario, or when Bowser's castle exploded.
  10. Spiky John - Was either killed in battle by Mario, or when Bowser's castle exploded.
  11. Mr. Hammer - Was either killed in battle by Mario, or when Bowser's castle exploded.

Everyone on this list appeared in the parade at the end (excluding the last three, as they are common enemies with names, though Hammerbros. do appear), but RPG parades are non-canon. Another indicator is Tubba Blubba's Heart, which reunited with his body (never to separate again, as it was Bowser that pulled his heart out), is outside his body during the parade.

Super Mario SunshineEdit

  1. Petey Piranha - Stomped on three times by Mario after too much water was shot into his mouth to inflate him. Melted into graffiti, but was later revived by Bowser Jr.
  2. Petey Piranha - Stomped on three times by Mario after being inflated with water. Melted into graffiti. Was later revived by Bowser or Bowser Jr. for his next appearance (either Partners in Time, Super Princess Peach, or New Super Mario Bros.)
  3. Wiggler - Stomped on three times by Mario after being flipped over. Turned into sand and was destroyed. (Note: This is a different Wiggler than the Super Mario 64 one, as well as the Mario & Luigi ones). As he was green, was not the same one who appeared in Super Princess Peach.
  4. Gooper Blooper - Was presumably killed when Mario pulled on his nose/mouth cork, sending him flying over the side of the cliff in Noki Bay, with no water to land in this time. Debatable, but if he was killed, he was revived later on for Super Princess Peach.
  5. Manta Ray - Sprayed with enough water by Mario, dividing into smaller rays, until all were destroyed.
  6. King Boo - Spicy fruit thrown at his mouth by Mario, distracting him, and then fruit thrown at him by Mario, destroying him. Was later revived by Bowser or Bowser Jr. for Super Princess Peach.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year DoorEdit

  1. Red Bones - Defeated in battle by Mario and Koops, and was destroyed.
  2. Hooktail - Defeated in battle by Mario, Goombella, and Koops. Coughed up Koops's father, Koopley, before death. Is gone next time one enters her room, to which Goombella wonders where she is, but her death is confirmed by her older brother, Gloomtail, in the Palace of Shadow.
  3. Giant statue - Crumbled into pieces when Luigi threw Blooey at the stone jewel on its head (which was its weak point). Luigi tells Mario the story, as Luigi's adventures in this game are never seen onscreen. According to Blooey, Luigi tripped when trying to throw him, causing him to land into lava (he survived but got scorched nonetheless).
  4. Grubba - As Macho Grubba, was defeated in battle by Mario, Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, and Yoshi. Survived for moments after the battle, telling Jolene what he did to Prince Mush, but afterward, he is never seen again, and Jolene says "Now that Grubba's out of the picture, I'm going to take over running the Glitz Pit."
  5. Hizza - Accidentally ate himself when both his heads (as he is a two-headed snake) lunged at Luigi, who avoided them, causing his mouths to strike each other, and Hizza exploded in a cloud of smoke. Was only mentioned by Luigi while telling Mario the story, and in the book.
  6. Johnson - Along with the rest of Lord Crump's X-Nauts (as well as a large number of Bowser's followers) was blown up when Bowser breathed fire and set off Crump's Superbombomb.
  7. Smorg - Defeated in battle by Mario, Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, Yoshi, Vivian, Bobbery, and Ms. Mowz. It is likely that the smorgs are dead, judging from the way their voices in the text box seem to get quieter. Afterward they blew off the passengers that they captured.
  8. TEC - After his power unit was shut down by Grodus, and he later helped Mario leave the X-Naut fortress through the teleporter, he blew up the X-Naut Fortress, destroying himself in the process. After the Shadow Queen was defeated, however, both TEC and the X-Naut Fortress returned.
  9. Crepe - Smote by Luigi with his mallet when the Marvellous Compass showed Luigi Crepe's every move. Was not even metioned by Luigi, only in the book about Luigi's adventures (presumably because Luigi was heartbroken over the Chestnut King, who was seemingly his main enemy in this adventure, having been Princess Eclair's boyfriend turned into a monster by Crepe).
  10. Dark Bones - Defeated in battle by Mario, Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, Yoshi, Vivian, Bobbery, and Ms. Mowz, and was destroyed.
  11. Gloomtail - Defeated in battle by Mario and his partners (all listed in above item). Coughed up a chest containing the Star Key before death. Did not die onscreen (as he is twitching), but if Mario is to leave the Palace of Shadow and venture back to his room (before activating the Star Key), Gloomtail is gone.
  12. Kammy Koopa - Defeated in battle by Mario and his partners, along with Bowser. Highly debatable, as when we last see her there are stars above her head (like Bowser), indicating that she is knocked out, but she never appears again. It is also possible she survived, and retired later on.
  13. Shadow Queen - Defeated in battle by Mario and his partners, and was destroyed in a dark shockwave explosion, releasing Peach from her control. Her complete and utter destruction was only made possible by the Crystal Stars and the power from everyone across the land; until then, she was immortal and could not be destroyed even by the four heroes that imprisoned her.
  14. Bonetail - Defeated in battle by Mario and his partners. Coughed up a chest before death. If Mario ventures back to his floor, he will be completely gone.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar SagaEdit

  1. Chuckolator - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi, killing the monster that Bubbles made the Chuckola Reserve into, turning it back into Chuckola Reserve.
  2. Mom Piranha - Shrunk after being defeated by Mario and Luigi, then crushed by Luigi.
  3. Trunkle - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi, destroying him in the same way as other enemies.
  4. Jojora's friend - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi, turning her to ice and causing her to melt.
  5. Iggy Koopa - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi, and was destroyed the same as regular enemies. Was later revived by Bowser for New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
  6. Morton Koopa Jr. - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi, and was destroyed the same as regular enemies. Was later revived by Bowser for New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
  7. Lemmy Koopa - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi, and was destroyed the same as regular enemies. Was later revived by Bowser for New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
  8. Ludwig von Koopa - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi, and was destroyed the same as regular enemies. Was later revived by Bowser for New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
  9. Roy Koopa - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi, and was destroyed the same as regular enemies. Was later revived by Bowser for New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
  10. Wendy O. Koopa - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi, and was destroyed the same as regular enemies. Was later revived by Bowser for New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
  11. Larry Koopa - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi, and was destroyed the same as regular enemies. Was later revived by Bowser for New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
  12. Cackletta - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi. She fought them in spirit form, inside Bowser, whom she was possessing, but by attacking her heart they defeated her. Her spirit left Bowser and vanished for good.

Fawful is knocked over the edge of Bowser's floating castle by Luigi, and seemingly explodes; however, he returns in the next two Mario & Luigi games, alive and well.

Mario & Luigi: Partners in TimeEdit

Defeated enemies who were killed as a result of the battle would always explode in a massive explosion (not like a bomb explosion) after the battle ends. The exception is Elder Princess Shroob, who vanishes while in spirit form (not too much unlike Cackletta).

  1. Swiggler - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi.
  2. Sunnycide - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi.
  3. Yoob - Without Sunnycide or the machines to give him power, he was deactivated and remained completely still on the side of the mountain. Presumably his deactivated body was destroyed afterwards when the remaining Shroobs were destroyed, when the Hydrogush sent water resembling baby tears across the land.
  4. Shrooboid Brat - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi.
  5. Petey Piranha - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi. If this game takes place before Super Princess Peach or New Super Mario Bros., then Bowser revived him later. If not, he hasn't been seen since.
  6. Commander Shroob - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi.
  7. Elder Shrooboid - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi.
  8. Princess Shroob - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi.
  9. Elder Princess Shroob - After being defeated by Mario and Luigi, turned into a mushroom, where she later made an unconscious Bowser eat her, powering him up as Shrowser while making her appear in spirit form above his head; however, she was killed when Mario and Luigi avoided and deflected Shrowser's fireballs, causing the avoided ones to hit her and Bowser to deflect the deflected ones at her. Exploded into purple particles.

Though all the Shroobs except Junior Shrooboid (who was kept trapped in a test tube), several Shroobs (regular, Junior, Commander, Support, and even Elder Princess Shroob) are seen cryogenically frozen in Bowser's Inside Story, at Bowser's castle. Starlow suspects that there were survivors and Bowser froze them. There have been theories behind this, that she traveled into the present first, was frozen, then later thawed out by Princess Shroob; or that these extra frozen Shroobs, seeing as how they were part of the battle, may have only existed inside the battle universe (as they are not present outside of the battle, as only the three Shroobs and Junior Shrooboid are), not unlike the audiences in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Nintendo has not given any answer to the question of her appearance in it, saying that they intend to leave it a mystery and let the fans make up their minds.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside StoryEdit

  1. Stone Blooper - Defeated in battle by Mario, Luigi, and Bowser. (Note: Bowser often inhaled the Blooper, but was unaware of Mario and Luigi inside him until Fawful was destroyed. Bowser was most likely the one to finish it off, because he can do more damage)
  2. Scutlet - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi.
  3. Alpha Kretin - Defeated in battle by Mario and Luigi.
  4. Tower of Yikk - Defeated in battle by Bowser, deactivating it.
  5. Monty Bros. - Killed by falling debris resulting from Bowser destroying the Fawful Express
  6. Junker - After being defeated by Mario and Luigi, crashed through a door, destroying himself, as he could be seen lying in pieces afterward.
  7. Peach's Castle - The monster that Fawful made Peach's castle into was defeated in battle by Bowser, and became the regular Peach's Castle again.
  8. Dark Star - While it was fighting Bowser as Dark Bowser, Mario and Luigi fought its core, which was combined with Fawful. Mario and Luigi defeated Fawful by destroying the core, thus weakening Dark Bowser. Bowser kept on punching Dark Bowser until doing a finishing move punch, completely destroying Dark Bowser.
  9. Fawful - Selfdestructed in an attempt to destroy Mario and Luigi. After he was defeated by Bowser, his body (except for his head, in the form of a bug) was destroyed, but he survived because he absorbed power from the Dark Star, which still remained. After Mario, Luigi, and Bowser destroyed the Dark Star, Fawful, still just a head and without the power of the Dark Star, was near death, so, in a final attempt to destroy the Mario Bros., he blew himself up, but ironically the explosion instead sent Mario, Luigi, and everyone else inside Bowser flying out of him through his mouth.

Mario & Luigi: Dream TeamEdit

  1. Smoldergeist - Destroyed in battle by Mario and Luigi. His Ember form disappears after the battle, and his statue form complains about his failure before dying.
  2. Grobot - Destroyed in battle by Mario and Luigi. Rays of light shine from him and he explodes into rainbow stars. Destroying him was the only option since a piece of the exploding fountain hit him and caused him to malfunction, slightly similar to Fracktail.
  3. Torkscrew - Destroyed in battle by Mario and Luigi, in a similar style to Grobot.
  4. Mammoshka - Destroyed in battle by Mario and Luigi, in usual boss explosion like Grobot and Torkscrew.
  5. Dreamy Mount Pajamaja - Destroyed by Mario and Luigi with Finishing Bros. Rays of light and explodes into rainbow smoke (as giant bosses usually do).
  6. Earth-Waker - Destroyed by Mario and Luigi with Finishing Bros.
  7. Pi'llodium - Destroyed in battle by Mario and Luigi.
  8. Antasma - Destroyed in battle by Mario and Luigi. He inflates, rays of dark rainbow light shine from him, and he explodes into purple stars.

Super Princess PeachEdit

  1. Petey Piranha - Jumped on five times by Peach after being filled up with water (not unlike in Super Mario Sunshine). Was later revived by Bowser for New Super Mario Bros. or Partners in Time, whichever came next.
  2. Hoo - Jumped on five times by Peach, and fell to his death.
  3. King Boo - Was destroyed a second (and possibly final) time when Peach used her Rage attack to light the candles enough times, causing the light to get bright enough to damage and eventually destroy him.
  4. Wiggler - Weak spot jumped on five times by Peach after being flipped over. (Note: Different Wiggler from Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario 64)
  5. Gooper Blooper - Hit in the nose/mouth cork enough times by Peach using her parasol.
  6. Blizzaurus - Burned enough times by Peach using her Rage attack.
  7. Army Hammer Bro - Hit enough times by Peach using her parasol, or other Hammer Bros.

Kamek does vanish in a similar manner to some of the bosses, but as a Magikoopa he may have just teleported away; furthermore, he appears in a later game, although if he really was killed during the fight with Peach, Bowser would have revived him like Petey Piranha.

New Super Mario Bros.Edit

  1. Bowser - Bridge destroyed by Mario and Luigi stepping on a skull switch, knocking him into the lava and reducing him to nothing but bones. Was later revived, onscreen, by Bowser Jr.
  2. Mummipokey - Jumped on enough times by Mario and Luigi.
  3. Cheepskipper - Jumped on enough times by Mario and Luigi.
  4. Mega Goomba - Jumped on enough times by Mario and Luigi.
  5. Petey Piranha - Jumped on enough times by Mario and Luigi after slipping on the ice and falling down. If this game takes place before Partners in Time, then he was revived at one point by Bowser.
  6. Monty Tank - the common Monty Mole driving the tank was killed when Mario and Luigi jumped on the tank he was driving enough times.
  7. Lakithunder - Jumped on enough times by Mario and Luigi.

Super Mario GalaxyEdit

  1. Dino Piranha - Hit in the head with the orb at the end of his tail, as a result of Mario using his spin attack on it. Was later revived by Bowser (as he was seen in the credits), but never had a chance to fight Mario again until Super Mario Galaxy 2.
  2. Megaleg - Weak spot hit with a bullet bill, which Mario tricked into hitting it.
  3. Bugaboom - Stomped on enough times by Mario. Was revived by Bowser for Super Mario Galaxy 2.
  4. Kamella - Shells thrown at her by Mario. Was later revived by Bowser for the secret galaxy.
  5. Tarantox - Hit enough times by Mario, launching at him with the sling pod, sending him flying into space (presumably into a sun, though he does seem to explode).
  6. Topmaniac - Knocked into an electric fence by Mario using a spin attack. Was later revived by Bowser for the secret galaxy.
  7. Bouldergeist - Bomb Boo swung into him by Mario after his rocky layer was blown off, twice.
  8. Major Burrows - Hit enough times by Mario with a spin attack. Was revived by Bowser for Super Mario Galaxy 2.
  9. Baron Brrr - Hit enough times by Mario with a spin attack.
  10. Kingfin - Shells thrown at him by Mario.
  11. King Kaliente - Projectile coconut hit back at him by Mario. Debatable, as he survived the first battle (and not unscathed), and doesn't explode like the others, plus he returns in Super Mario Galaxy 2.
  12. Kamella - Shells thrown at her by Mario. Again.
  13. Topmaniac - Spun into an electric fence enough times by Mario. Again.
  14. Fiery Dino Piranha - Hit in the head with the orb on his tail because of Mario spin attacking it. Was revived by Bowser for Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Super Mario Galaxy 2Edit

  1. Peewee Piranha - Hit enough times by Mario with a spin attack.
  2. Giga Lakitu - Spinys thrown at him by Yoshi, sending him falling to his doom.
  3. Digga-Leg - Weak point hit enough by Mario's drill attack.
  4. Gobblegut - Weak points (large red orbs on him) destroyed by Mario with a spin attack. Was later revived by Bowser.
  5. Bugaboom - Stomped enough times by Mario.
  6. Rollodillo - Rammed into enough times by Mario (who was in boulder form during the battle).
  7. Sorbetti - Red nose hit enough times by Mario with a spin attack.
  8. Glamdozer - Stomped from below enough times by Mario (while on opposite sides of a part of the ground that spins around when pounded).
  9. Squizzard - Fireballs shot into his mouth enough times by Mario.
  10. Prince Pikante - Coconuts hit back at him by Mario, causing his tank to explode.
  11. Bowser Jr. - Boomsday Machine stomped by Mario, which exploded and sent him flying into space. Debatable, though, as Bowser survives what seems to be worse in both Super Mario Galaxy games, though he is never seen again for the remainder of the game (unless a player returns to one of his levels).
  12. Whomp King - Stomped on the back three times by Mario. This time he exploded/shattered to pieces. (His dialogue remains the same as in Super Mario 64, with slight additions, one of them being a "Dang it!" as his hand falls to the ground.)
  13. Gobblegut - As Fire Gobblegut, weak points were again destroyed by Mario.
  14. Dino Piranha - Hit in the head by Mario with the orb on his tail.
  15. King Kaliente - Coconut hit back at him by Mario.
  16. Bouldergeist - Hit with a Bomb Boo by Mario.
  17. Major Burrows - Hit enough times with the spin attack by Mario.
  18. Fiery Dino Piranha - Hit in the head with the orb on his tail when Mario hit it with a spin attack.

Super Mario 3D LandEdit

  1. Bowser - Fell into the lava when Mario hit a switch. Was revived, possibly by Bowser Jr. (although he never appears in the game).
  2. Dry Bowser - Fell into the lava when Mario hit a switch. (Note: Unlike in New Super Mario Bros., this is a separate version of Bowser from the original)
  3. Bowser - Fell into the lava when Mario hit a switch.

Boom Boom and Pom Pom won't be listed because they both seem to be a species instead of a character, unless they are revived repeatedly by Bowser.

Super Mario 3D WorldEdit

  1. Hisstocrat - Destroyed by Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Blue Toad jumping on his head. Rays of blue and purple light shine from him and he explodes in a puff of smoke. Revived.
  2. King Brolder - Destroyed by Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Blue Toad throwing Brolders at him. Rays of orange light shine from him and he explodes. Revived.
  3. King Ka-Thunk - Destroyed by Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Blue Toad stomping on his back. Rays of blue light shine from him and he explodes in a puff of smoke.
  4. Motley Bossblob - Destroyed by Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Blue Toad either jumping on his head or scratching him as cats. Rays of purple light shine from him and he explodes in a puff of smoke. Revived.
  5. King Brolder - Destroyed the same way as before.
  6. Bowser - Sent falling into the lava by Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Blue Toad, hitting balls at his car to smash it against the ground, which crumbled. Was revived immediately after.
  7. Hisstocrat - Destroyed the same way as before.
  8. Motley Bossblob - Destroyed the same way as before.
  9. Bowser - Sent flying into the distance by Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Blue Toad striking a big POW block he was standing on, and then exploded in a Bowser-shaped fireworks explosion. If this is not chronologically the last game, then he is later revived.

New Super Mario Bros. WiiEdit

  1. Kamek - After turning Bowser giant, was accidentally knocked off his broom by Bowser when he jumped up, and fell into the lava.
  2. Bowser - Crushed by his castle falling over as a result of the Koopalings getting him back up. If Super Paper Mario or Super Mario Galaxy takes place after this game, then Bowser was revived again later on, possibly by Magikoopas or a 1up mushroom. Not too improbable, as such an event would have killed him in Bowser's Inside Story were it not for the Mario Bros. intervention (as they were inside him and needed him to fight Fawful's forces).
  3. Larry Koopa - Crushed by Bowser's castle falling over.
  4. Roy Koopa - Crushed by Bowser's castle falling over.
  5. Lemmy Koopa - Crushed by Bowser's castle falling over.
  6. Wendy O. Koopa - Crushed by Bowser's castle falling over.
  7. Iggy Koopa - Crushed by Bowser's castle falling over.
  8. Morton Koopa Jr. - Crushed by Bowser's castle falling over.
  9. Ludwig von Koopa - Crushed by Bowser's castle falling over.
  10. Bowser Jr. - Crushed by Bowser's castle falling over.

If more games are to be released, with Bowser returning as the main villain, the revival of Kamek, the Koopalings, and Bowser Jr. is not an impossibility. However, it is likely that this is chronologically the last game, as sidescrollers don't have much plot or dialogue as RPG's and 3D platformers do, and the ten most prominent figures in the Koopalings appear in the same game for the only time to date, and are all presumably killed at the end, seemingly with no one to revive them.

Super Paper MarioEdit

  1. Fracktail - Wrackles thrown at his antenna by Mario. His death scene was similar to that of Volvagia from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: Turns into a skeleton from the head to the tail, and falls in pieces.
  2. King Croacus - Razor sharp petal blades thrown at him by Mario, Peach, and Bowser (may also have been burned by Bowser's flames). Was later revived by the Floro Sapiens, and no longer insane due to the Cragnons not throwing trash into their river anymore.
  3. King Sammer - Killed when his dimension, Sammer's Kingdom, was sucked into The Void, created by Count Bleck. Returned along with his kingdom once The Void was destroyed.
  4. Sammer Guys - All 100 of them (and they are named) were destroyed by The Void along with their land, but came back to life when The Void was closed. See the subheading below for names.
  5. Luigi / Mr. L - Destroyed by Dimentio, with a transparent box appearing around him and blowing him up. Was intended to release Mr. L from Bleck's control, as Luigi again, and only temporarily killed him, as he was able to return from the other world.
  6. Mario - Destroyed by Dimentio, with his exploding box attack. Only temporarily killed him, and he was considered "alive" in the other world, and returned back to the world of the living.
  7. Princess Peach - Destroyed by Dimentio along with Mario and Bowser. Only temporarily killed her, still considered "alive" in the other world, and returned after rejoining with Mario, Luigi, and Bowser.
  8. Bowser - Destroyed by Dimentio along with Mario and Peach. Only temporarily killed him, and he returned with the others.
  9. Bonechill - Defeated by Mario, Peach, Bowser, and Luigi. His own icicles and missiles were thrown back at him, and Luigi hit him with Spin Attacks, and the fallen Nimbi shattered to pieces.
  10. Luvbi - Was the eighth Pure Heart, and ceased to exist once she resumed her true form. For reasons entirely unknown, returned once The Void was closed (and separate from the Pure Heart, which remained in its Heart Pillar).
  11. Gary - May have been killed by Mario, Peach, Bowser, and Luigi as they made their way through Castle Bleck.
  12. Nastasia - Sacrificed herself to save Count Bleck from a magic attack directed at him by Dimentio. Somehow came back to life once The Void was destroyed.
  13. Dimentio - As Super Dimentio, combined with the Chaos Heart and Luigi, was defeated in battle by Mario, Peach, and Bowser, directing enough jump and flame attacks at his head. His body was destroyed leaving only his head, near death, and for the very first time, in shock and disbelief. Before dying, exploding, and sinking into the ground, however, he left behind a shadow of his power to control the Chaos Heart, which, along with Luigi, was released unharmed.
  14. Tippi - Might have been destroyed along with the Chaos Heart when she and Count Bleck got married at the altar to destroy it. Highly debatable, as Merlon and Nastasia suspect that both are living together in happiness; indeed, in the final credits scene, both are shown in their original forms, shadowed, and in a paradise dimension that does not look like The Overthere.
  15. Count Bleck - Might have been destroyed along with the Chaos Heart when he and Tippi got married at the altar to destroy it. Highly debatable, as Merlon and Nastasia suspect that both are living together in happiness; indeed, in the final credits scene, both are shown in their original forms, shadowed, and in a paradise dimension that does not look like The Overthere.
  16. Wracktail - Wrackles thrown at his antennas by Mario, Peach, Bowser, and Luigi, also might have been jumped on by Luigi using his Super Jump, or even Peach, if she jumped off his tail and onto his antenna. Gets the same death scene as Fracktail.
  17. Shadoo - All four of his forms defeated by Mario, Peach, Bowser, and Luigi, with his Dark Mario form being the last (preceded by Dark Luigi, Dark Bowser, and Dark Peach).

Many of Mario's previously defeated enemies may have been among the Skellobits sent by Bonechill to invade the Overthere, as the dead villains become Skellobits once judged by Jaydes. That being said, many of the Skellobits, including a large army that fights a war with the Nimbis, are destroyed.

List of Sammer GuysEdit

There are 100 Sammer Guys, aside from King Sammer, and all of them get sucked into The Void and are annihilated. They all come back to life, and can be fought, once The Void is destroyed and all its victims restored. Many of their names are a reference to something, often in the Mario universe.
