The Joker is one of the main villains of Batman. He is quite easily the most evil of Batman's enemies, as well as the most insane, even though he is also portrayed as a comic villain. The Joker in the animated series is resistant to death, as he can survive long falls and explosions (creating a TV trope called "Joker Immunity"), but strangely enough, he is one of the few characters to actually die in the series.

  1. In the movie Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, his death is shown in a flashback. He turned Tim Drake into a miniature version of him, and commanded him to shoot Batman with a spear gun, but instead he shot the Joker, who, bleeding from the mouth, said "That's not funny," before dying.
  2. Also in Return of the Joker, the Joker returns as a clone, possessing Tim Drake through a microchip, but Terry (Batman Beyond) electrocutes him with a hand buzzer, which destroys the microchip, therefore destroying the Joker and releasing Tim from his control.
  3. In the Tim Burton movie Batman, he attempted to escape on a helicopter near the top of a skyscraper, but Batman shot a batarang at the Joker, tying his leg to a gargoyle, which weighed him down and caused him to let go of the ladder and fall to his death.
